The Artist Studio Programme at Kanoria Centre for Arts is designed to provide a supportive and stimulating environment for dedicated visual artists. Each year, contemporary graduate artists from across India and abroad apply to be part of this dynamic community.
Selected artists are offered their own studio space in one of four disciplines – painting, printmaking, sculpture, or ceramics. In addition to studio access, artists benefit from KCA’s shared facilities, including a well-stocked library, Wi-Fi, and the support of an in-house assistant for studio-related needs.
A distinctive feature of the programme is the opportunity for artists to participate in exhibitions at various local art galleries, helping them expand their networks and professional exposure.
Artist Trips
KCA regularly organises art camps and field trips to culturally and ecologically rich sites such as Polo Forest, Alibaug, Silvassa, and Mumbai. These immersive experiences offer artists the chance to draw inspiration from new landscapes and deepen their creative practices.
Annual Exhibition
The programme culminates in a group exhibition at the Urmila Art Gallery, as part of KCA’s annual arts festival held at the start of each year. This showcase is an important platform for artists to present the work developed during their residency.
Lectures & Workshops
Throughout the year, KCA invites distinguished artists and creative professionals to lead talks, seminars, and hands-on workshops. These sessions often extend into informal studio visits, offering residents invaluable feedback, mentorship, and inspiration.
